Netflix to co-develop curriculum for India's creative talent, extend scholarships

Under its partnership with Indian Institute of Creative Technology, the streaming platform will also extend scholarships through its Netflix Fund for Creative Equity.

Netflix is joining hands with India’s creative technology institute to develop a new curriculum. The streaming platform signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to support students in India’s AVGC-XR sector (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality).

IICT established as a not-for-profit company was launched during the inaugural edition of World Audio-Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) with the support of key stakeholders including the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of Maharashtra, FICCI, and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India at the 25th edition of FICCI Frames.

“Building on our efforts to promote skill development and inclusive access in the media and entertainment sector, this collaboration with IICT and FICCI aligns with the government’s vision to strengthen India’s AVGC sector," said Mahima Kaul, Director - Global Affairs, Netflix India.
