Telugu superstar Nagarjuna recently met and apologized to a differently-abled fan who had been pushed aside by his bodyguard at the Mumbai airport recently. The incident, which garnered significant attention on social media, saw the actor taking responsibility and ensuring that the fan felt valued and respected.
On Wednesday, Nagarjuna was spotted at the Mumbai Airport returning home from a work trip. During this time, a differently-abled fan attempted to approach the actor for a photograph. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, the fan was brusquely pushed aside by Nagarjuna's bodyguard. The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral, leading to widespread criticism of the bodyguard's actions and disappointment that Nagarjuna did not intervene at the moment.
Acknowledging the backlash, Nagarjuna took immediate steps to address the situation. The very next day, he met the fan at the airport and spent time with him, posing for several pictures. Demonstrating humility and compassion, Nagarjuna reassured the fan that the incident was not his fault. He said, "Arre, don't be sorry. It was not your fault, humara galti hai," which translates to "Don't be sorry. It was not your fault, it is our mistake."
Nagarjuna's actions and words were a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and respect, especially towards fans who hold their idols in high regard. The actor's decision to meet the fan and apologize in person significantly mitigated the negative sentiment that had arisen from the incident.
The fan, visibly touched by Nagarjuna's gesture, appeared to be comforted by the actor's words and the time he spent with him. This moment was not only significant for the fan but also for the public, who witnessed a star taking responsibility for the actions of his team and showing genuine concern for his followers.
Following this, Nagarjuna also posed with a few other fans at the airport before heading towards his flight. For the flight, he opted for a simple yet stylish look, wearing a white shirt paired with denim pants.
To further address the incident, Nagarjuna took to his official social media account to apologize publicly. He posted the video of the incident with a heartfelt message that read, "This just came to my notice... this shouldn’t have happened!! I apologize to the gentleman and will take necessary precautions that it will not happen in the future!!!"
At the time of the incident, Nagarjuna was in Mumbai to shoot a segment of his upcoming film with Dhanush. The project, titled D51, is being directed by Sekhar Kammula and also stars Rashmika Mandanna. During the filming at Juhu Beach earlier in the week, Dhanush's bodyguards were also seen pushing aside fans and preventing cameras from filming. However, Dhanush has not commented on these incidents.
