BTS' j-Hope shines at the Strong Warrior, Army! Presentation Contest

Currently serving as a sergeant, j-Hope is set to be discharged from the military in October later this year.

On June 4, the South Korean army held the Strong Warrior, Army! Presentation Contest, featuring around 170 soldiers and civilian employees. Among the participants was BTS’ j-Hope, whose presence at the event captivated fans and attendees alike with his charming appearance and heartfelt speech.

During the presentation, shared on the National Defense News YouTube channel, j-Hope expressed his immense pride in serving as a soldier for the Republic of Korea. His speech touched on the profound impact of his military service and the motivation he derives from fans. He recounted a touching encounter with a Korean fan who expressed deep gratitude for the BTS members' dedication to their country. j-Hope said, "A Korean fan came up to me and said this. They told me they were really grateful that all seven members (of BTS) are Korean citizens. They also said to me that it was an honour that I was with the trainees every time they completed their training. Maybe that’s why I feel like I’m spending very meaningful and rewarding days lately. It’s a great pride to serve as a soldier for the Republic of Korea."

Following his speech, j-Hope was awarded the grand prize for the event, which included a 500,000 KRW (equivalent to 360 USD) reward. This accolade is just the latest in a series of honours j-Hope has received during his military enlistment.
