As excitement builds, fans are eager to see how this star trio will deliver a fresh take on the classic haunted house genre.
After a 14-year hiatus, Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan are reuniting for Bhooth Bangla, an upcoming film that promises a perfect blend of horror and comedy. Joining them in this star-studded cast are Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi, all set to bring their unique comedic touches to the haunted house tale.
In an exciting new development, it’s been confirmed that Mithila Palkar, the beloved star of Little Things, has been roped in for a significant role in the film. Known for her relatable charm and infectious smile, Palkar will bring her own magical touch to the project, adding some much-needed ghostly glamour to the mix.
According to Pinkvilla, a source tells them that, "Mithila Palkar has come on board to play the part of Akshay Kumar’s sister in the film. The shoot is going on in full swing and Mithila plays a part that’s very pivotal to the narrative, and the core conflict. The actress is having a seamless shoot experience with the entire gang and has allotted about 25-days for the shoot."
The source further mentioned "Bhooth Bangla is shaping up in a fantastic manner, as Priyadarshan has perfectly balanced the horror elements with humour, and also thrills. The sequences written on paper are escalated to a different level on the sets due to the unmatched chemistry shared by Akshay Kumar with artists like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani among others."
The filming for Bhooth Bangla began in December 2024 and is slated to be completed by March 2025.
Though the plot details are being kept under wraps, much like any good horror story, rumors hint that Bhooth Bangla will be an exciting rollercoaster ride.
The film is already one of the most anticipated releases, especially since it reunites the iconic team behind classics like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, and Khatta Meetha.
The movie is set to hit theaters on April 2, 2026.
