Malaika Arora and her son Arhaan Khan have launched a new restaurant called Scarlett House in Mumbai's trendy Bandra area. What makes this restaurant special is that it is located in a beautiful 90-year-old Portuguese bungalow that has been transformed into a stylish dining space. The bungalow, which is painted in a rich scarlet color, spans 2,500 square feet and is divided into several rooms, each offering a unique dining experience.

The interiors of Scarlett House are nothing short of stunning. Inside, you’ll find a mix of vintage and modern decor elements. The space features gramophones, which add a retro touch, and floral-upholstered Victorian chairs that bring an old-world charm. Cozy woollen throws are draped over sofas, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is also decorated with beautiful chandeliers, vintage dinnerware, and lush plants, all of which contribute to its inviting and cozy vibe. These thoughtful design choices make Scarlett House a perfect place for both casual meals and special gatherings.

Malaika Arora has teamed up with her son, Arhaan Khan, to open Scarlett House. They are not doing this alone, though. They have partnered with Arhaan’s childhood friend, Malaya Nagpal, and Dhaval Udeshi, a well-known restaurateur in Mumbai. Dhaval is famous for co-founding other popular eateries in the city, like Gigi and Lyla. Malaika shared a picture on social media to announce the launch, showing herself and Arhaan wearing coats with the restaurant's name embroidered on them. The post was captioned, “Collaborating for the first time @scarletthousebombay,” signaling the start of this exciting venture.

In an interview with Vogue India, Malaika explained the motivation behind opening Scarlett House. She and her son have always shared a love for food and entertaining people. Over the years, they have traveled the world together, often bringing back recipes that they enjoyed and wanted to recreate at home. Malaika said that starting a restaurant felt like a natural next step, combining their shared passion for food with the joy of bringing people together.

Malaika also revealed that Scarlett House was inspired by her desire to have a place where she and her close friends could relax and enjoy good food. Some of her closest friends, including Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amrita Arora, and Karisma Kapoor, are likely to frequent the restaurant for casual meet-ups.
