The beloved actress was honoured with the prestigious Raj Kapoor Award at the Maharashtra State Film Awards 2025, held in Mumbai — a fitting tribute to her decades-long contribution to Indian cinema.
Kajol's choice to go to the ceremony with her mother, the renowned actress Tanuja, added to the evening's poignancy. Kajol took the stage in a traditional saree that had once belonged to her mother in a very touching gesture that touched both fans and onlookers.
The audience gave her a heartfelt round of applause for her acceptance speech, which was delivered in Marathi with eloquence.
Kajol also took to Instagram and shared several glimpses from the award ceremony that she attended with her mother.

Receiving the honour from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was one of her most treasured moments. Kajol choked a little as she remembered that her mother had previously received the same honour, which added to the significance of the honour.
