Jeremy Renner, known for playing Hawkeye in the MCU, has confirmed he won’t be returning for season two of Disney+’ Hawkeye. The actor revealed that he took this decision after being offered only half of his original season one salary, blaming what he called the “penny pinchers” at Disney.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy Renner also pointed out that the pay cut offer came after his life-threatening snowplow accident in 2023, which left him severely injured and required extensive rehabilitation—making the situation all the more disheartening.

Speaking during the latest interview with High Performance, Renner said, "They asked me to do Season 2, and they offered me half the money. I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount."

“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season," Jeremy further said expressing his disappointment.
