Friends actor Jennifer Aniston has recently talked about Matthew Perry and revealed that it grieved her late co-star long before his death. She also discussed Matthew’s years-long struggles with addiction.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer said, “We did everything we could when we could. However, Matthew had also expressed the same in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
The actress added, “But it almost felt like we’d been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight.” She added, “As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there’s a part of me that thinks this is better. I’m glad he’s out of that pain.”
For the unversed, Matthew died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office in December 2023 said at the time that he had died of “acute effects of ketamine.”
The late actor’s body was found in the hot tub of his Pacific Palisades residence, and the autopsy report also included drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication to help treat opioid use disorder, as factors in his death.

In the latest development in the fallout from Perry's overdose death, one of the physicians who provided him with ketamine pleaded guilty to four counts of distribution in a long-awaited deal. Dr. Salvador Plasencia could face as many as 40 years in prison and might have to pay over $1 million in fines as part of the plea agreement.
Perhaps most famously cast as the funny-guy Chandler Bing, the actor struggled with drugs and alcohol for many years. He was also known for his performance in films like 17 Again, Fools Rush In, among others.
