Ed Sheeran, a worldwide music sensation, is generating a lot of buzz before his next song, Sapphire, is released. The English singer-songwriter gave fans a fun preview on Instagram on Monday, sharing a behind-the-scenes video with India's musical maestro Arijit Singh and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
A fusion of cultures and artistic abilities is depicted in the teaser, which has since gone viral. Shah Rukh can be heard singing parts of Sapphire in the endearing video, and Sheeran and Arijit enjoy a laid-back coffee date on a barge.
Sheeran also plays traditional Indian instruments, gets a tattoo in Punjabi script, sings in Hindi, and even joins college students in a lively dance routine in the video, all of which demonstrate his deep engagement with Indian culture.
‘Sapphire’ is the third release from his upcoming album titled ‘Play’ and follows the success of his recent singles, ‘Old Phone’ and ‘Azizam’. ‘Sapphire’ is set to release on June 5, 2025.
This isn't Sheeran’s first encounter with SRK. The two stars previously met in Mumbai last year, where they bonded at Shah Rukh’s residence, Mannat. Their meeting instantly made waves online, particularly a clip where they both struck SRK’s signature arms-wide pose.
Their joint post on Instagram lit up the internet, as they captioned it, “This is the Shape Of Us spreading love.”
SRK wore a loose-fitting shirt with a papercut-style print, torn jeans and casual trainers to create a laid-back vibe in the now-famous video. Sheeran, meanwhile, looked put together in black trousers, a sweatshirt with a marble print and Jordans. They even performed a dance to "Deewangi Deewangi" from SRK's popular movie Om Shanti Om, which delighted viewers everywhere.

Sheeran's previous visit to Mannat included an exclusive private performance for SRK, which further strengthened the two countries' close artistic and cultural ties and added to the excitement.
Fans are excitedly anticipating this international musical fusion as Sapphire approaches its release date. All indications point to a distinctive and endearing anthem that uses music to celebrate unity.
