Best known for her remarkable performances in television and films, Chahatt has also carved a niche for herself in the business world with her luxury fashion brand, Ammarzo. From navigating the ever-evolving entertainment industry to running a successful business, she has mastered the art of handling multiple responsibilities.
In this exclusive interview with Moneycontrol.com, Chahatt Khanna opened up about her career, the challenges of social media, her entrepreneurial journey, and what the future holds for her.
With millions of followers on social media, maintaining engagement is no easy task. Chahatt acknowledges the effort it takes to keep up with her audience while staying focused on her work.
“Yes, I have built this community over a period of years, and people want to know what I’m doing. But when I’m engrossed in work, I really don’t care about what I’m posting. I’m not eating, I’m not on social media, I’m just working. At the same time, I also have to ensure that my engagement doesn’t drop. It’s a tedious job that keeps me on my toes, but that’s part of the process,” she shares.
While she has already established herself in the entertainment industry, Chahatt is far from done. She has her sights set on working with some of the most respected names in Bollywood.
“As an actor, I want to work with my favorite directors, Hansal Mehta and Rajkumar Hirani. I also dream of working with Aamir Khan. And as an entrepreneur, my only goal is to take my company to unicorn status in the next six to seven years,” she says with determination.
Managing both the film industry and the business world comes with its own set of challenges. Chahatt describes how different these industries are yet how she has managed to thrive in both.
“Both aspects are quite opposite of each other. The film industry is my home, but the business world has welcomed me with open arms. The community has been very warm and accepting, partly because I’m an actor. It feels like dealing with two different worlds at once,” she explains.
With her hands full with business ventures, many fans wonder if they will see her back on screen anytime soon.
“I feel like I’m back home every time I step onto a set. It’s like going back home,” she says. However, when asked about any upcoming projects, she remains tight-lipped. “I can’t reveal any details about the show or my character just yet,” she teases.
While her return to acting is something to look forward to, she is equally passionate about expanding Ammarzo into new categories.
“I always wanted to get into the fashion business, and I’ve made that happen with Ammarzo. Now, I’m venturing into the sleepwear category because there’s a huge gap in the market that we aim to bridge,” she shares.
In an era where social media is crucial for business growth, Chahatt emphasizes the effort it takes to stay relevant online.
“To keep up your social media game, you have to be hands-on. Nothing comes easy in life. Managing different divisions and multiple ventures comes with a cost—extra hard work, time, and dedication. You need patience, strategy, and proper time management to let everything grow organically,” she advises.
Being a woman in both the entertainment and business industries, Chahatt has always been passionate about encouraging other women to chase their dreams.
“As a businesswoman, entrepreneur, founder, and actor, I know that many women out there are waiting for the right time to achieve their dreams. But you can’t wait forever. You have to create your own time. You can’t just think, ‘My time will come.’ No, turn the tables around and bring your time back,” she says.
Apart from being an inspiration, she also shares a fun fact about herself: “Not many people know, but I’m sarcastically very funny. People around me find me hilarious. I think I’m always on point, and when I say things, it just sounds too funny,” she laughs.
With many brands competing in the luxury fashion and sleepwear space, what makes Ammarzo different?
“Ammarzo is not just about fashion; it’s about conscious luxury. We focus on quality, sustainability, and timeless designs. Our upcoming sleepwear line is designed to provide both comfort and elegance, something that has been missing in the market. We aim to create a category that blends style with practicality,” Chahatt explains.
Recently, Chahatt’s Instagram account was hacked, causing a major disruption in her online presence.
“It was extremely stressful. My social media is a big part of my brand and career, and suddenly losing access was frustrating. However, I took immediate action—contacted Instagram’s support team, reached out to cybersecurity experts, and kept my audience informed. The biggest lesson I learned is to always have strong security measures in place, including two-factor authentication and regular password updates,” she advises.
With an exciting career in both acting and business, what will Chahatt focus on more in the coming years?
“Both are equally important to me. I will definitely be seen more on screen, but at the same time, I’m working hard to grow Ammarzo. I believe in balancing both worlds,” she confirms.
