BTS member Jin has made a heartfelt request to fans during a recent fan interaction event in Seoul. Speaking at the Hi-Seokjin meet-and-greet on Sunday, the popular K-pop star asked fans, especially international ones, to be gentle when meeting him and avoid grabbing his hands.
Jin shared that his hand was hurting and asked for understanding from the BTS ARMY. “So now, we're going to start the Hi-Seokjin event, but my hand is paining. Please avoid holding it, just lightly touch. For the foreigners, please don't grab, touch please. Ah, okay, thank you. Okay, everyone, so now we'll start right away,” he said.
This polite but firm request follows an unfortunate incident during last year’s BTS Festa fan event. At that time, a Japanese woman attempted to kiss Jin without his consent during a fan hug session. The incident, which took place in June 2024, occurred just after Jin completed his military service and appeared at his first public event. Instead of a hug, the woman moved in and kissed his face. Jin quickly turned away, and the moment was caught on camera.
Outraged fans reported the woman for sexual harassment, and South Korean police began an investigation. Authorities have asked the woman, who is currently in Japan, to come forward for questioning regarding the incident, which is being treated as a case of sexual misconduct in a public space.

During the recent event, Jin also reminded fans about proper behavior when taking photos. He explained that taking photos or videos from one’s seat is fine, but close-up recordings during interactions make him uncomfortable. “Everyone. It's fine when you're taking pictures or videos of me when it's from your seat, but if you're taking pictures or recording when you come like this, I'll come out ugly. I'll get stressed if I see that kind of photo, you know, so when you come here, please put your phone in your pocket,” he said.
Despite the challenges, Jin has been actively promoting his new solo album, Echo, and reconnecting with fans. His message is clear: he deeply appreciates the ARMY’s love but also asks for respect and care during personal interactions.
