When the trailer for Dhurandhar dropped earlier today (November 18), it wasn’t just Ranveer Singh’s fiery return to action that grabbed attention.
It was also the presence of a much younger face, Sara Arjun, the 20-year-old actress who plays the female lead opposite the Bollywood powerhouse.
Born on 18 June 2005 in Mumbai, Sara has practically grown up in front of the camera. Before she could even form full sentences, she was already starring in TV adverts for household names such as Maggi, McDonald’s, and other major brands.
By the age of five, she had appeared in over a hundred commercials — her expressive eyes and endearing smile making her one of the most recognisable child faces on Indian television.
Her big cinematic moment came in 2011 with the Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal. She portrayed Nila, the daughter of Vikram's character, a man with an intellectual disability, when she was just six years old.
Sara became one of the most talented child actors of her generation after her heartbreaking performance moved both audiences and critics to tears.
Sara has since made a remarkable career for herself in the Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam film industries.
She portrayed the younger version of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's character in Mani Ratnam's epic duology Ponniyin Selvan I & II, and she has given critically acclaimed performances in Saivam and Sillu Karupatti. Her Bollywood credits include The Song of Scorpions, 404, Jazbaa, and Ek Thi Daayan.
Now, at 20, Sara is making headlines once again with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, a high-octane spy thriller that also stars R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Sunny Deol alongside Ranveer Singh.
Both her and Ranveer's chemistry and their 20-year age difference have become hot topics on the internet.
