Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra had been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Monday afternoon due to age-related illness. He was reportedly in a critical condition at the time.
Dharmendra’s hospitalisation fueled several rumours on social media, including about his death. However, Sunny Deol’s team has now issued a public statement stating that the veteran actor’s condition is currently stable.
The statement reads, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health.”
The team also requested for prayers and privacy. It concluded, “Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
The statement came after several media outlets reported that Dharmendra had passed away.
However, several prominent actors from the film industry, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan with son Aryan Khan, Govinda, among others, paid a late-night visit to Dharmendra in the hospital.
However, Dharmendra's wife Hema Malini had previously taken to her social media and shared an update on his health. She expressed gratitude towards the concerns from the fans and noted that he has been continuously monitored.

The tweet reads, "I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored, and we are all with him. (folded hand emoji) I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery."
Police barricades have been set up outside Dharmendra's Juhu home to control the crowds and media. In support of the iconic actor who has been a mainstay of Indian cinema for over 60 years, fans have been gathering every day and leaving messages and flowers.
