Ayushmann Khurrana has a knack for mixing humour with his film promotions, and this time, his maasi stole the spotlight. While discussing his upcoming supernatural-romantic film Thama, she casually asked if it was “like Dracula.” The actor immediately jumped in with a correction: “It’s not Dracula, it’s Thama. An Indian vampire.”

The lighthearted family exchange, which happened in Punjabi, has now gone viral. Ayushmann’s aunt even teased him further, saying that in her dreams “Thama comes at night” and she also said "Ayushmann will come to suck her blood.” To which Ayushmann simply laughed, playing along with the spooky yet funny moment.

This cheeky conversation has created the perfect buzz ahead of the film’s release. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama stars Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok and Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka, stepping into a supernatural love story with a mix of horror, humour, and desi romance.

The cast is another talking point. Paresh Rawal plays Ram Bajaj Goyal, a character expected to bring both gravitas and comic relief. Meanwhile, Nawazuddin Siddiqui appears as Yakshasan, a sinister figure who seems set to raise the stakes in this spooky tale.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, the movie is being pitched as part of the studio’s growing supernatural universe—this time adding romance into the ghostly mix.
