Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 postponed, new release date confirmed

In an unexpected turn of events, the release of Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s much-awaited comedy-drama Son of Sardaar 2 has been pushed back by a week.

Initially scheduled to hit cinemas on 25 July 2025, the film will now release worldwide on 1 August 2025. The makers, however, have remained tight-lipped about the reason behind the delay, which was announced less than a week before its original debut.

The revised release date was unveiled through a brand-new poster that retained the film’s vibrant, humorous essence. “The laughter riot just got a new date. Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide (sic),” the announcement read, quickly garnering attention from fans on social media.

Serving as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar, this film takes the character of Jassi, played once again by Ajay Devgn, on a completely new journey set in the lush, scenic backdrop of Scotland. Mrunal Thakur joins the franchise as Rabia, his love interest, promising fresh chemistry and heart-warming moments.

The film also intertwines a parallel storyline involving a group of children led by 12-year-old Aarav, who set off on a delightful quest during a local mango festival to hunt for a mythical golden mango. This subplot adds a unique layer of innocence and wonder, blending seamlessly with the film’s comic tone.
