Maharashtra elections: Mahayuti will get over 175 seats, says Ajit Pawar

Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Monday exuded confidence in the victory of the Mahayuti alliance with over 175 seats in the 288-member state legislature. Pawar went on to add that in Baramati he will win with a margin of more than "one lakh votes".

The seven-time MLA from Baramati assembly constituency is contesting against his nephew Yugendra Pawar, who is making his electoral debut in the assembly polls. Maharashtra will go to polls on November 20 with votes being counted on November 23.

Besides Ajit Pawar's NCP, the Mahayuti alliance comprises Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and chief minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

The Mahayuti alliance comprises the Bhartaiya Janata Party (BJP) the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar led NCP. It is up against Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which comprises of Congress, Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
