The online application process began on October 12, 2024, and closes tonight at pminternship.mca.gov.in. As of today, over 130 companies have registered on the platform, offering more than 50,000 internship positions across various sectors.
Key Highlights of the PM Internship Scheme 2024
Eligibility: Open to unemployed Indian youth aged 21-24 years, not pursuing full-time education or employment. Exceptions apply for online and distance learners. Family income must be under Rs 8 lakh annually, and government job holders' families are not eligible. Graduates from specific prestigious institutes and those with professional degrees (CA, CS, MBA, etc.) are also excluded. Additionally, participants in ongoing government skill training programs are not eligible.
Benefits: Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000. The central government contributes Rs 4,500, with companies adding Rs 500 from their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. Interns will also receive a one-time grant of Rs 6,000.
Selection Process: The list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared between October 27th and November 7th. Offer letters will be sent from November 8th to 25th, and internships will commence in companies from December 2nd.
