JEE Main Syllabus: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses such as B.E. and B.Tech across India. For candidates preparing for the exam, having a clear understanding of the syllabus, exam pattern, chapter wise topics, weightage and marking scheme is essential. The official syllabus for JEE Main 2026 is based on the NCERT curriculum of Classes 11 and 12.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern

Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech

• Mode of examination: Computer-based test (online)


• Duration: 3 hours


• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics


• Total questions: 75


• Questions per subject: 25


• Total marks: 300

Each subject is divided into two sections:

• Section A: 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)


• Section B: 5 numerical-value questions (all compulsory)

Candidates are not allowed to use calculators or any electronic devices during the exam.

Marking Scheme for JEE Main 2026

• Correct answer: +4 marks


• Incorrect answer: –1 mark


• Unattempted question: 0 marks


• Negative marking applies to both MCQs and numerical-value questions in Paper 1.
