The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has taken extensive steps to ensure the safe, transparent and standardized management of the Revenue Talati (Class-3) Examination on September 14, 2025. 2,94,355 candidates attempted the examination, which was conducted in a single shift, on a single day across 1,384 examination centers, in 23 districts. The scale of this recruitment drive makes it one of the largest examinations currently being conducted by GSSSB.
In recent years, examination authorities have faced severe challenges associated with large-scale logistics, candidate verification, and examination malpractices. Taking proactive measures, GSSSB collaborated with a leading examinations security solutions provider to deploy innovative technology-based systems in an effort to enhance the fairness and integrity of the examination ecosystem. These progressive measures included live CCTV monitoring of all 1,384 centers, where every aspect of the examination was monitored in real-time. AI-enabled facial recognition technology has also been implemented at the examination centres to ensure maximum security, taking the standard of safeguards to an unprecedented level.
Under these processes, every candidate had to undergo biometric verification through fingerprint and facial recognition, virtually eliminating any opportunity for impersonation and fraudulent entries. All the feeds from the examination center were streaming live to a centralised command control room where the exam controller was monitoring all examination centers, allowing immediate action to be taken if necessary.
Keyur Jethva, Secretary of GSSSB, "The Revenue Talati examination was scheduled for 4.25 lakh and attended by almost 3 lakh candidates on a single day, at 1,384 centres in 23 districts. Conducting such a big exam was not an easy process. It required detailed planning and strong safeguards to ensure the integrity of the exam. Monitoring examination centres in real time and implementing biometric verification provided the highest level of security and integrity for the exam. In addition, we assured the integrity of the exam as well as upheld the trust of the legitimated candidates. While also demonstrating what this level of exam security looks like, we are committed to providing an environment where merit is the only factor for success."
The Board has also put in place a thorough logistical plan to manage such a large turnout of candidates, including sufficient infrastructure, monitoring coordination and timeliness in all districts. With more than 3 lakh candidates on site on the same day, we expect that the deployment of high-end security measures is essential in prompting discipline and fairness at scale.
