The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has released important guidelines for candidates appearing in the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) scheduled for July 2025. The exam is set to be conducted on Saturday, 5th July 2025, and will be held in remote proctored mode, meaning students can appear from home using a laptop or desktop system.
To ensure a seamless experience, candidates must adhere strictly to the instructions outlined by ICSI. Here’s everything you need to know.
Exam Mode and Timing
Unlike traditional offline tests, the CSEET July 2025 will be conducted from the comfort of the candidate's home. There is no physical examination centre. Candidates are advised to log in at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time to avoid last-minute glitches.
Mandatory Setup and Technical Requirements
Candidates must appear for the test using a desktop or laptop only. Devices like smartphones, tablets, or MacBooks are not allowed. The system should have Windows 7 or above, a functional web camera and microphone, and stable internet with a minimum speed of 512 kbps. It is also advised to ensure proper lighting and uninterrupted power supply during the exam.
The browser requirement is specific—candidates must use the latest version of Google Chrome only.
Mock Test Details
To help students get comfortable with the online test interface, ICSI will conduct a mock test on 5th July 2025. This is mandatory for all candidates. Login credentials and instructions for the mock test will be sent via email or SMS before the test date.
Important Documents
Candidates must keep their CSEET admit card and a valid government-issued ID proof (such as Aadhaar card, passport, PAN card, voter ID, or driving license) ready for verification. These will be required during the login process and monitored throughout the exam.
Behavioural Guidelines and Exam Conduct
Once the test begins, candidates must remain seated alone in a quiet room and ensure their face is clearly visible via the webcam at all times. Leaving the seat, talking, using any gadget, or looking away from the screen is considered suspicious activity and may lead to cancellation of the exam.

The use of books, notes, paper, mobile phones, smart watches, or calculators is strictly prohibited. Impersonation or cheating in any form will result in disciplinary action, including nullification of the result.
CSEET Exam Pattern for July 2025
The exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. There will be no viva-voce component this time. The test will cover four core areas: Business Communication, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, Economic and Business Environment, and Current Affairs along with Presentation and Communication Skills. The total duration of the test will be 2 hours.
