Amit Bhadana, a former banker from Faridabad, has become a local sensation by delivering milk in a luxury Audi A3 convertible, a far cry from the humble cycles or scooters usually associated with the trade. But what truly sets his story apart is that before the Audi, Bhadana was known for making his rounds on a 750CC Harley Davidson, earning him the nickname “Harley wala dudhiya” among his customers.
Bhadana’s journey began when he left his banking job during the Covid-19 pandemic to help with his family’s dairy business, based in Mohatabad village. Initially, he started delivering milk on a motorcycle, then upgraded to the Harley Davidson to combine his love for high-end vehicles with his family’s trade.
“I initially used my 750CC Harley Davidson for deliveries. But the scorching summer sun made it challenging,” Bhadana said, as quoted by TOI. The intense heat eventually prompted him to switch to the Audi convertible, whose weather-adjustable roof allowed him to continue his rounds comfortably, even in the peak of summer.
Each morning, Bhadana covers 60 to 70 kilometres, delivering around 120 litres of milk to homes across Sector 21, Sainik Colony and the NIT areas of Faridabad. His unique delivery style has not only expanded his customer base but also made him a viral sensation, with people often stopping him for photos and videos.
The Bhadana family’s dairy farm, managed by his father Ram Avtar, a retired Army man, houses 32 cows and 6 buffaloes. Amit’s brothers and wife also play key roles in the business, which has grown steadily as word spreads about the “Audi Milkman”. Despite spending around RS 400 per day on fuel, Bhadana has no plans to change his vehicle. In fact, he looks forward to bringing back the Harley Davidson for his rounds come winter, blending his passion for luxury vehicles with his commitment to the family business.
Reflecting on his unconventional career switch, Bhadana was quoted by TOI as saying, “Every delivery run is like a joyride now. I’m living my passion for luxury vehicles, but honouring our family tradition at the same time.” His story has become a symbol of how traditional professions can be reimagined with a modern twist and how following one’s passion can lead to unexpected success.
