In a significant leadership transition, the Board of Directors of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved the appointment of P B Balaji as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on Monday.

The development was announced by the company through a regulatory filing.

Balaji will become the first Indian to lead JLR as CEO. He will succeed Adrian Mardell, who is set to retire upon completion of his contractual term.

The leadership change will take effect in November 2025. Until then, Mardell will continue to assist with a smooth transition.
