Hero MotoCorp has announced the introductory prices of the new Vida VX2 range -- Go and Plus -- making it affordable by Rs 14,500 in comparison to the initial prices announced at the launch.

Launched on July 1, the Vida VX2 electric scooters come with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, under which buyers do not have to pay the price of the battery upfront. They have to pay a fixed battery cost depending on the subscription plans and usage.

The Vida VX2 range now starts at just Rs 44,990 (ex-showroom) for the BaaS variants, and Rs 84,990 (ex-showroom) for the non-BaaS variants.

The entry-level VX2 Go variant gets a single removable battery (2.2 kWh), while the VX2 Plus variant has a couple of removable batteries (3.4 kWh). The VX2 Go has a claimed range of 92 kilometres on a single full charge. The VX2 Plus can cover around 142 kilometres on a single full charge.

The Vida VX2 electric scooters employ a 6 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor. The 0-100% charging time is claimed to be 3 hours and 53 minutes for the VX2 Go variant, and 5 hours and 39 minutes for the VX2 Plus variant. Both variants support fast charging, with the 0-80% charge time claimed to be 1 hour and 2 minutes.
