In a first for Noida, residents and visitors will soon be able to enjoy the city’s upcoming deer park and mini-zoo, currently under development at the Biodiversity Park in Sector 91. Designed with a strong focus on wildlife conservation and sustainability, this new attraction is set to redefine urban green spaces.
Here are five things to know about the new park:
1. A Unique Addition to Noida’s Landscape
The deer park will be a first-of-its-kind facility in Noida and Ghaziabad, housing around 132 deer from 10 different species. It will also welcome three African species, making it an exciting spot for wildlife enthusiasts. The animals will come from various sources, including zoos in Kanpur, Lucknow, and Hyderabad.
2. Expert Planning for a Natural Habitat
The park’s design is being overseen by a former District Forest Officer (DFO), who is ensuring that the layout supports both animal well-being and visitor experience. Special attention is being given to create natural surroundings, with soft, eco-friendly lighting for evening visits that won’t disturb the animals.
3. Mini Zoo with a Significant Investment
Spread across 30 acres, the deer park is being developed with a budget of ₹40 crore. In addition to being a home for native and exotic deer, it will serve as a rehabilitation centre for rescued animals, including those seized at airports. A new rescue facility is also being set up near Dhanauri Wetland as part of the project.
4. Conservation and Education Come Together
This will be the region’s only dedicated deer park, with habitat conditions tailored to support both local and African deer species. Experts are working to ensure a smooth acclimatization process for the exotic animals, turning the park into an educational space that promotes conservation awareness.
5. Sunset Safari: A Star Attraction
A standout feature of the park will be its sunset safari. Visitors will be able to explore the grounds until 10 PM, thanks to special lighting that mimics a natural evening environment. The safari promises a unique way to observe wildlife after dark—something rarely available in urban India.
