Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been temporarily halted after a landslide in the Mehad area of Ramban. Authorities are working to clear the debris, and travelers have been advised to take alternative routes until the highway is reopened.

Amidst the weather challenges, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has started work on the 1.1-km-long Bhimber Gali Tunnel on NH-144A. The tunnel will reduce the travel distance between Rajouri and Poonch by 10.8 km, improving road connectivity for both civilians and the Army.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sonamarg Tunnel, aimed at improving connectivity between Sonamarg, Kargil, and Leh. He praised the workers for overcoming challenges to complete the project.
