The Western Ghats is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is spread across 6 states in India, and it is praised because of its biodiversity, misty mountains and distinct landscapes. 1. Kaas Plateau, Maharashtra
Kaas Plateau, the Valley of Flowers of the South, is blanketed in its highland meadows in hundreds of varieties of wildflowers that bloom during the monsoon. Its weak ecosystem is a draw to nature and photographers around the nation.
2. Dudhsagar Waterfalls, Goa
This four-level cascade river on the Mandovi River falls drastically through green forests. The waterfall is most impressive in the monsoon season and looks like a river of milk falling down the mountains with lush greenery and a wide variety of wildlife.
3. Kerala Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Periyar is one of the most well-known reserves of India, with the animals being elephants, tigers and rare bird species. There are treks and boat rides through which you can have a close look at a tropical forest, spice plantations and a beautiful artificial lake in the centre of everything.
4. Agasthyakoodam Peak, Kerala
Agasthyakoodam is one of the loftiest mountains of the Western Ghats, and it has an approximate trek which is most difficult, with a clear environment and a variety of medicinal plants and herbs. The summit is also of religious importance and accessible to trekkers in only a few months.
5. Silent Valley National Park, Kerala
This park is a site that protects one of the few remaining portions of tropical evergreen forest in India. It also has towering trees, rare orchids, and endangered species, such as the lion-tailed macaque, and it is also an important ecological treasure.
6. Jog Falls, Karnataka
Jog Falls is the highest waterfall in India, which was formed by the Sharavathi River. Its fallen strands are white with lightning that roars across the sheer cliffs in the monsoon season, and they make such a spectacular show that attracts both travellers and other photojournalists.
