Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 15s Pro earlier this year, with it being the first handset to be powered by the company’s in-house 3nm 10-core XRING 01 chipset. Now, a leak claims that Xiaomi is working on a successor to this handset, which is likely to ship with a second-generation XRING chip. The purported Xiaomi 17s Pro is also expected to be the final addition to the Xiaomi 17 lineup, which currently includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra, expected to be announced later this month.
Xiaomi 17s Pro: Expected release timeline, specs
Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo has offered clues about the upcoming Xiaomi 17S Pro, suggesting that the phone is in active development. The tipster also claims that the Xiaomi 17S Pro is on track for a 2026 launch. This means that the company could release the phone after the apparent introduction of Xiaomi 17 Ultra later this month.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 17s Pro is anticipated to run on Xiaomi's second-generation XRING chipset, potentially dubbed XRING 02. Its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15s Pro, is powered by the XRING 01 chipset with a deca-core design, and performance improvements are expected with the upcoming processor. Similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 17s Pro is most likely to be exclusive to the Chinese market.
To recall, the Xiaomi 15S Pro has a 6.73-inch 2K OLED LTPO display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It sports a Leica-backed triple 50MP rear camera unit and packs a 6,100mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. Further, the phone has an IP68-rated dust and water-resistant build.
