X, formerly known as Twitter, is experiencing a global outage for the second time this week, affecting users across several regions including India, the US, and parts of Europe. According to data from outage-tracking platforms, user reports started rising sharply around 6:43 AM IST on January 16, pointing to a widespread disruption of the platform’s services.
Key problems faced by users
Users report multiple issues while accessing X. The most common problem involves the mobile app not loading properly, with users encountering blank screens or continuous loading indicators.
Website access is also affected, with several users unable to open X on desktop browsers. Timeline-related issues have been reported as well, with feeds failing to refresh or display new posts.
Posting tweets and replies is impacted for some users, while others report being logged out unexpectedly and facing login failures when trying to re-enter their accounts. These issues appear to be affecting both the app and web versions of the platform.

Data from Downdetector shows a steep surge in complaints, with reports crossing 65000 within a short span after the outage began.
According to the breakdown, 50 percent of users reported problems with the X app, 39 percent flagged website-related issues, and 11 percent complained about feed and timeline loading problems. Reports surfaced simultaneously from multiple countries, pointing.to a global outage.
