X, the Elon Musk-owned social media platform previously known as Twitter, is celebrating its third birthday with a sizeable discount on its Premium subscription in India. New users can sign up for the paid tier at Rs 89 for the first month, a limited-time rate that is valid until 2 December. After the trial month, the standard pricing kicks in. That means Rs 427 per month if you subscribe via the desktop site or Rs 470 per month if the payment is made through the mobile app. Existing Premium members are not eligible for this introductory offer.

The discounted plan is aimed at first-time Premium subscribers who want to test the service before paying full price.

X Premium: What features you get?

The Premium tier brings a long list of extra features. Subscribers get the blue verification badge and higher visibility for their posts and replies. They can edit posts, undo a post immediately after sending it, and publish long-form content up to 25,000 characters. Video uploads are more generous as well. Premium users see fewer adverts than free members, though the platform is not completely ad-free. Those who want an ad-free experience can either use an ad blocker on the web or move to Premium Plus.

There are creator benefits too. Eligible posts can earn revenue if they reach enough users, similar to YouTube’s partner programme. Other perks include video downloads, the ability to create communities, formatting tools like bold and italic text, bookmark folders and custom app icons.
