Instant messaging platform Telegram has rolled out its third update of the year and it brings features like AI-powered Sticker Search, several video-related improvements and more.
AI-Powered Search for Stickers
With the Telegram February 2025 update, the AI sticker search now returns results from "millions of custom stickers and emoji uploaded by Telegram users". The AI-powered Sticker Search feature supports searching in 29 languages, including English, Spanish, Arabic and Hindi.
Copy Video Link at Current Time
“When sharing a link to a video on Telegram in chats or on other platforms, you can now include the current timestamp in the link. When someone taps on the link, it will open the video in Telegram to that exact moment. To share a link to a video, tap the share arrow in the video player. It will automatically give you the option to include the current time in the link”, Telegram said in the blog post.
Video Covers in Channels
Telegram users can now choose a frame to use as a cover photo for videos they post in channels. To create thumbnails, they can use the video editor to add text, stickers, emoji, etc. before selecting a cover.
“To select a video cover, tap the three-dot icon in the top corner of the video editor and select 'Edit Cover'”, says the blog post.
Saved Progress for Videos
The latest Telegram update adds the functionality to automatically save your progress while watching a video. Now, Telegram users can take a break from watching at any time and return to the point you left at.
React with Stars as a Channel
“Users can support content creators with Stars by sending the Star reaction to their channel posts. To provide greater privacy and allow content creators to promote their channel in the leaderboard, users can now react with Stars as one of their channels”, says the blog post.
Similar Bots
“Like with channels, on bot profiles you can now see a list of similar bots — to help you find other popular services, utilities and games”, added Telegram in the blog post.
