Samsung has announced a new Galaxy event titled “Worlds Wide Open”, set for October 21 at 10 PM ET, where it will finally reveal more details about its long-awaited Project Moohan mixed reality headset.

The headset will run on Android XR, a mixed reality platform jointly developed by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. According to Samsung, Android XR is designed to work across different device types and will integrate AI at the core of immersive experiences. The goal, the company says, is to blend digital and physical realities in a way that feels useful in daily life rather than purely experimental.

Samsung describes Project Moohan as the first product built specifically for this new platform — a headset that “seamlessly blends everyday utility with immersive new experiences.” The company suggests that the device will focus not just on entertainment but also on practical applications, like communication, work, and learning in mixed reality environments.

Early prototypes of the headset and Android XR were previewed by select users in late 2024, but this upcoming event appears to mark the product’s official debut.
