Samsung India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Startup India, a flagship initiative by the Government of India, to support and scale up its Solve for Tomorrow innovation programme. The collaboration aims to nurture young innovators from across India and provide them with access to resources and mentorship.
Solve for Tomorrow is Samsung’s innovation and education programme designed for students aged 16 to 22. It encourages participants to solve real-world problems with ideas driven by technology and creativity. Selected teams receive training from business leaders and Samsung experts.
Expansion to smaller towns
With the new partnership, Samsung will now extend Solve for Tomorrow to students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns across India. This is expected to increase the accessibility of the programme and bring in a wider pool of young talent.
Support and funding
Shortlisted applicants will receive mentorship, access to incubation centres, and potential grants of up to Rs 1 crore to bring their ideas to life. The programme will also help participants refine their business models and scale their solutions.
J B Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said, “Through this programme, we hope to inspire India’s youth to drive positive social change.” Startup India will facilitate outreach through its network of incubators and academic institutions.
Launched in 2022, Solve for Tomorrow has received thousands of entries and helped students develop solutions across sectors like healthcare, environment, agriculture, and education. Samsung says the collaboration with Startup India will help create a stronger ecosystem for youth-led innovation in India.
