The Galaxy S26 series is on the horizon, with Samsung expected to launch its next flagship series sometime at the start of next year. Many reports have claimed that the top-of-the-line smartphone from the series, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will arrive with multiple upgrades, including a bump in its charging speed. A tipster has now corroborated these claims and suggested that the flagship phone will offer 33% faster charging than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy 26 Ultra: Expected charging details
In a post on X (previously known as Twitter), tipster PhoneArt (@UniverseIce) claims that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will charge faster than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with 60W charging support. This means that the South Korean tech giant could finally move up from the 45W charging capability on its Ultra models, which was initially introduced with the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022.
Previously, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra was reportedly spotted on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) website, with support for 45W wired fast charging. However, this information contradicts these previous leaks, suggesting that we could finally see faster charging on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 are likely to retain the same 25W charging support, as per the same 3C listing.
In terms of battery capacity, many rumours have suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will pack a 5,000mAh battery, which means that the battery size will remain unchanged, since the launch of the Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020. Moreover, the phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which was launched recently.
