Samsung Galaxy A56 spotted on Geekbench with new Exynos 1580 SoC and Android 15 operating system

The Galaxy A56 will be the upcoming midrange smartphone from Samsung. It will be the successor of the Samsung Galaxy A55 and could boot One UI 7 out of the box.

After launching the Samsung Galaxy A55 in early 2024, Samsung is gearing up to launch its successor, the Samsung Galaxy A56 soon. Ahead of the official unveiling, of the purported handset, it has been spotted on the database and benchmarking platform Geekbench, with specifications such as the Exynos 1580 chipset and the latest Android 15 OS.

As per the Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy A56 has the model number SM-A566B, where the B suggests it is a global model. The phone has an Exynos 1580 chipset, with the device scoring 1,341 in single-core and 3,836 in multi-core tests. These are slightly better scores than the Exynos 1480 on its predecessor, the Galaxy A54, which had single-core points of 1127 and multi-core of 3090.

The listing also reveals that the Exynos 1580 SoC has eight cores in total. It has one primary core clocked at 2.91GHz, three mid cores capped at 2.60GHz, and four efficiency cores operating at 1.95GHz. Further, the listing screenshot mentions that the phone will boot Android 15, which could be based on the upcoming One UI 7 operating system.

Moreover, the Exynos 1580 processor uses an Xclipse 540 GPU (codenamed Angle), which could be based on a newer RDNA 3 architecture. The listing mentions that the phone has 8GB of RAM. It could also come in more options like the Galaxy A55, with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage options.
