Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is ready to launch its next budget smartphone in India, following a brief dry spell. The Redmi 15C has already been unveiled in select global markets, and it is now set to be officially announced in India next week. The device will be the successor to Redmi 14C 5G, which was launched earlier this year. While the company has yet to reveal other details about the smartphone, its price in India, storage variants, and specifications were recently leaked online.
Redmi 15C: Launch date, expected specs and price
Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), the brand has revealed that the Redmi 15C 5G will launch in India on December 3. The teaser video also confirms that the Redmi 15C 5G will feature a dual rear camera setup housed inside a rectangular camera module. While the specifications, features, and pricing details remain under wraps, Redmi has revealed a timeline of the smartphone on Amazon for when more information will go live.
The company will reveal the phone's design on November 28, while the battery capacity and display details will also be revealed on November 29 and November 30, respectively. Later, on December 1 and December 2, the company will announce its multitasking capabilities and “core memories” feature, which most likely refers to its RAM and storage configurations.
The phone is already available for global markets, so we can assume most of its features. It is expected to sport a 6.9-inch HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and house an 8MP selfie camera inside the notch. The phone could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC and house a 50MP main camera along with a secondary lens. It might pack a 6,000 mAh battery. The Redmi 15C is expected to have a starting price of less than Rs 15,000 in India.
