UK-based smartphone and audio accessories brand Nothing will be launching its first Community Edition smartphone on October 30. It is a new version of the already launched–Nothing Phone 2a and is created with direct input from Nothing’s fan community. Through a new X post, Nothing announced that it will unveil the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition smartphone during its next quarterly update, which is scheduled for October 30 at 11:00 GMT (4:30 PM IST).
Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition: Key details
Nothing announced about the ‘Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition Project’ in March of this year. Through this initiative, Nothing Community members were given the liberty to design the device, including wallpapers, packing, and other software customizations.
The entire project was divided into four stages where users could even build the packaging design and finally, build a carefully curated marketing campaign in six months for this special edition smartphone.
Nothing has listed the winners of this project on its website. The winner of the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition has a Phosphorescence concept with a green finish that glows in the dark. Therefore, the wallpapers, packaging, and marketing campaigns follow a similar theme, and the device is confirmed to have this glowing, phosphorescent theme at the back.
The rest of the specifications of the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition are expected to remain the same. It features a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Further, the Phone 2a is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC paired with up to 12G RAM and 256GB storage.
In terms of optics, the device has a 50MP dual camera setup and a 32MP front-facing camera. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports a 45W fast wired charging.
