Although Windows 11 has become Microsoft’s AI testbed, the company somehow finds time to add some features that are actually useful and practical. One such feature is the battery percentage in the taskbar.
For the longest time, the only way to check out how much battery percentage is left was to hover your mouse pointer over the battery icon on the taskbar. Odd, but true. Then, Microsoft revamped the Settings page and added the battery percentage at the top within the respective menu option. But, that was far from simple, at least when compared to a glance at the battery icon on the taskbar.
If this has been a painful task for you, then you are in luck as Microsoft has finally decided to add the little battery per cent indicator in the taskbar.
In the latest Microsoft Windows 11 build, the Windows maker has added the percentage indicator along with the battery icon update. The feature has been added in the build 26120.2992.
The catch here is that the feature is hidden and users are currently required to follow some tedious steps to activate it.
We don’t know whether Microsoft will make it available normally within the Insider Build of Windows 11 or if the feature will make it to the stable build.
All said and done, the feature being in the development indicates that the company has atleast thought about it and probably working on it too.
Considering Mac and other operating systems like Android, iOS, etc have been offering this important yet simple feature for ages, it is high time that Microsoft should add this feature to Windows 11 too.’
