'Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater' is an upcoming single-player third-person tactical and survival stealth action game. It is a remake of the 2004 PlayStation 2 game ‘Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’, considered one of the greatest video games ever made.

2. Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater: Protagonist
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater’s protagonist is Jack (codenamed ‘Naked Snake’ or just ‘Snake’), a fictional character created by video game auteur Hideo Kojima. Also called Solid Snake, he is a former Green Beret and CIA’s FOX unit special forces soldier exceptionally skilled in stealth and espionage-based missions.

The story of Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is set in the 1960s, during the Cold War. Snake is ordered to infiltrate the Soviet Union via para dropping into hostile jungles and rescue a Soviet scientist. Since Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is just a remake, there is no change to the story; however, there are graphical and audio upgrades for modern consoles and PCs. Konami promises “all new graphics and 3D audio that enhance the jungle atmosphere”.
5. Unreal Engine 5 transforms the world of Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater
With the help of Unreal Engine 5, developers have embellished the game world of ‘Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater’ with new, highly detailed graphics showing the “wild growth of the jungles, forests, and swamps”. Players will also see the “facial wrinkles, pores, and even separate eye and iris movements” of the characters, says Konami.
6. An upgraded battle damage system retains injury marks
According to Konami, Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater will reflect the “wear and tear of Snake's clothes, as well as bruises and bullet wounds on his body” in real time. If Snake gets injured during the gameplay, the wounds on his actual body in the game will leave permanent marks; the way Solid Snake gets injured will be different for every player depending upon how they deal with hostile forces in the jungle.
7. Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater: Gameplay elements
The gameplay of Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater involves sneaking on enemies, close-quarters fights, interrogating the enemies, climbing, camouflage, as well as hunting and treating injuries. Naked Snake has to source his weaponry and food from the jungles.
8. Gameplay styles: Legacy and New
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater’s Legacy Style gives you an overhead view in the third person. For the Metal Gear remake, Konami has added a new gameplay style in the form of a third-person mode. The third-person gameplay allows players to experience the action from up close and makes for a more focused and immersive stealth experience.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).

Though Konami revealed the first trailer on June 10, 2024, the release date of Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is yet to be announced.
