Meta to soon join Centre's Sahyog Portal for takedown orders, integration in final stages

The move comes even as X Corp challenges the portal’s legality in the Karnataka High Court.

Meta is soon set to join Sahyog Portal

Social media platform Meta is soon set to join Sahyog Portal, the centralised platform of the Central government for processing takedown orders, sources told Moneycontrol.

Sources said that Meta is in the process of integrating the API necessary to onboard onto the Sahyog Portal. A few bugs in the API are being resolved currently, the integration is expected to go live in the coming few days.

On July 17, in a written submission made by the Centre (accessed by the Moneycontrol) at the Karnataka HC in the X vs Union of India case, the government stated that as many as 38 intermediaries have joined the portal.

These include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Telegram, Apple, ShareChat, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube, Dot IN Registrars, Quora, Josh, Pi Data Centers, Sify, Oracle India, and others.
