Social media giant Meta has announced a third-party messaging integration process for EU users, which will enable WhatsApp and Messenger users to synchronise chats from other apps. In a new blog shared by the company, it stated that in compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA), it will enable messaging interoperability, while maintaining privacy and security standards.

Some of the highlights of this integration include maintaining privacy and security standards, options for users to choose which third-party apps they want to receive messages from, and flexibility to keep third-party chats separate or combine them with existing inboxes. It will also allow notifications about the availability of integration from these apps.
