Meta is exploring a new feature for Threads that would allow users to add music to their posts, a capability already available on Instagram and Facebook. According to a report by TechCrunch, Meta has confirmed that the feature is in works.

As per the report, the music feature was first uncovered by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, known for identifying unreleased features still under development. While the feature is not yet available for public testing, its inclusion on Threads could enhance the platform’s appeal by giving users a creative way to personalise their posts and showcase their musical preferences.

As with any internal prototype, there is no certainty about whether or when this feature will officially launch. Meta has yet to reveal details about its functionality, including potential licensing agreements, customisation options, or user controls to disable music playback.

Meanwhile, Paluzzi also revealed that the Community Notes feature also being planned by Meta for the Threads app. . Users can write a note about any post on Threads with this option, which will appear under the post if rated as helpful. Moreover, the platform reiterates that the ‘note is anonymous’ and redirects users to a support article on Instagram with more details about the feature.
