Marvel Rivals, the upcoming team-based shooter from NetEase Games and Marvel Games, has added five new characters to its roster of super-powered beings. The new Marvel Comics Universe characters to join the roster are Wolverine, Black Widow, Iron Fist, Cloak and Dagger and Squirrel Girl.
Marvel revealed the new characters in the launch trailer of the soon-to-be-launched PvP game. The Marvel Rivals launch trailer teases some classic superhero team-ups. For instance, Hawkeye and Black Widow are seen taking on the enemies together. We also get a glimpse of a raging Hulk launching Wolverine in the air against enemies in a “fastball special” move, something that Marvel Rivals players would want to do themselves when the game launches.
The free-to-play Marvel superhero fighting game that pits two teams of 6 players against each other, is set to launch on December 6 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
The addition of the five new characters including Wolverine and Black Widow expands the roster of playable Marvel characters to over 30 now. All the current Marvel characters and new characters to be added in the future will be free.
Marvel Rivals is being seen as the competitor to Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch franchise of free-to-play team-based shooter titles.
