iQOO 15 launch date confirmed: 5 big upgrades to expect over iQOO 13

iQOO’s next flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15, is now confirmed to launch in India in the coming weeks. While the specifications and pricing of its Indian version are still under wraps, the phone is teased to be powered by the newly introduced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

Display
The iQOO 15 is likely to feature a slightly larger 6.85-inch curved Samsung M14 LTPO AMOLED display, which will maintain the 144Hz refresh rate. However, the phone will now support higher peak brightness, possibly reaching up to 6,000 nits, a big jump from the iQOO 13’s 4,500 nits peak brightness.

Performance
iQOO has also confirmed that the iQOO 15 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which will support up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It represents a significant leap from the Snapdragon 8 Elite used in the iQOO 13.

Battery
The battery backup also sees an upgrade for Indian consumers, as the iQOO 15 is likely to pack a 7,000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the iQOO 13’s 6,150mAh unit. Moreover, the phone could offer 100W fast charging and 40W wireless charging support.

Camera
As for the optics, the iQOO 15 is likely to succeed its predecessor with a similar triple 50MP setup. However, it is likely to introduce notable improvements through a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, which will now support 3x optical zoom.

Software
iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO 15 will debut with Android 16-based Origin OS 6, replacing the FunTouchOS 15 on the iQOO 13. This updated interface will include new AI-based tools, improved animations, and better customisation features.
