Vapor chamber cooling technology is a common inclusion in most premium Android smartphones. It helps in dispersing heat across a larger surface area, and prevents thermal throttling to keep the device’s performance stable. Previously, in January, a leak claimed that the entire iPhone 17 lineup would use this technology. However, a new leak suggests that it could make its way to only the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

In a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, tipster Instant Digital added that the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will use vapor cooling chambers to better manage heat dissipation. As per the tipster, both flagship iPhone models will leverage this technology to complement the thermal management of the A19 Pro SoC, which is expected to power these smartphones.

This solution will help dissipate heat from the A19 Pro chip, ensuring the iPhone 17 Pro series smartphones don’t throttle when the user plays games, does video editing, or uses the camera for video recording multiple footages. Notably, Apple's current flagship models, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, are equipped with a graphene sheet for heat management and to prevent overheating. However, this technology will considerably improve thermal management, than the current adaption.
