With only a few months remaining before Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 17 series launch, new leaks have surfaced detailing the specifications and features of the lineup, including the iPhone 17 Air. A new video featuring dummy units of the iPhone 17 series from a YouTube channel has highlighted the slim profile of the iPhone 17 Air and its single rear camera.
iPhone 17 Air tipped to come with ultra-slim design: Key details
A recent eight-minute YouTube video from AppleTrack’s Sam Kohl showcased dummy units of the upcoming iPhone 17 series, outlining the rumored specifications and design elements of the iPhone 17 lineup. However, the iPhone 17 Air stands out in the video with its sleek design and a single rear camera positioned in the top left corner. Previous reports have suggested that the smartphone may be just 5.5mm thick, making it slimmer than even the iPhone 6 and barely thicker than a standard USB-C port.
Further, the video reveals that the iPhone 17 Air will have a single 48MP rear camera, and it will be housed in a single horizontal pill-shaped camera bar, accompanied by an LED flash unit. Kohl also noted that the iPhone 17 Air will have thin buttons and a Camera Control feature similar to last year’s iPhone 16 Pro models.
Additionally, the bottom edge of the phone has fewer speaker holes, two on each side of the USB-C port, to be precise. The iPhone 17 Air is likely to sport a 6.6-inch OLED ProMotion display, and in terms of pricing, is likely to sit below the Pro models, replacing the Plus models from the last three generations. It is likely to be powered by the next-generation A19 chip with 12GB of RAM. Moreover, it is likely to get a rival soon, as Samsung is bringing its ultra-slim smartphone, named the Galaxy S25 Edge, as early as May.
