Integration of AI in DPI, ensuring safeguards, increasing adoption in Global South: What G20 Task Force's report says

The report suggests that governments, international organisations, and stakeholders should advocate for the adoption of DPI as a critical enabler of digital transformation

A new report by the G20 Task Force has highlighted the importance of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in driving inclusive and sustainable development across various sectors.

​ DPI refers to the digital systems and technologies that enable individuals and businesses to access and utilise digital services, such as verifiable identity, data sharing, payments, and open networks for eCommerce.

The report of the task force whose co-chairs were Infosys' cofounder-cum-chairman Nandan Nilekani and G20 sherpa Amitabh Kant, emphasise the need for countries to adopt DPI to promote financial inclusion, enhance service delivery, and empower individuals in the digital age. ​

The report also suggests number of ways to take DPI forward, to accelerate its adoption in various countries, especially the Global South.
