The Telegram messaging application is one of the most popular apps to share files or send messages to your contacts or known users. The interface offers a cross-platform, cloud-based distributed messaging service with no advertisements. It is currently available on all major platforms used by the majority of users such as PC, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS.
However, all Telegram contacts stored or synced on the application are saved on the app’s native servers in the cloud. So, users who majorly operate Telegram for business and marketing may want to sync their phone contacts with Telegram and subsequently download their Telegram contacts. Here we present you a brief guide on how to do both these things easily.
How to sync Telegram contacts
1. Open the Telegram app and tap on the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the top left corner. Next, click on Settings.
2. Now, select Privacy and Security.
3. Next, if you are using an iOS-based device, choose Data Settings > Sync contacts. On the Android app, you will find the option in the Privacy and Security section.
4. If the option was previously unchecked, it will take a few minutes to sync all your contacts.
How to download/export Telegram contacts
Now that you have synced all your Telegram contacts to the app’s server, you can easily download all of these contacts on any device.
1. Again open settings of the Telegram application.
2. Next, link a desktop device by selecting the Devices section or you can also download the Telegram desktop app.
3. Now, on the Settings section of the Desktop app click on Advanced and then subsequently on Export Telegram Data.
4. In the pop up you can choose what kind of data you want to export. Select your desired list and then click on the Export button.
5. The official Telegram account will list the details of the data requested, IP address, device name, etc. Tap on Allow at the bottom of the message to approve the request.
6. Your contacts will now be saved in a custom HTML file. Open it to view all your contacts.
