The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has announced that all domestic LPG consumers must complete biometric Aadhaar authentication, also known as e-KYC. The move aims to streamline verification and ensure that LPG connections are linked to verified identities. Consumers can complete the process either from home using mobile applications or by visiting their LPG distributor. It is to be noted that this is not a new directive issued by the Ministry. This e-KYC process has been there since a while now.

Aadhaar-based LPG e-KYC is a verification process that links a consumer’s LPG connection with their Aadhaar details using biometric authentication. This includes face authentication through supported apps. The government has enabled this feature to reduce duplication, improve beneficiary identification, and ensure proper delivery of LPG services.
How to complete LPG e-KYC using mobile apps
Download your Oil Marketing Company’s mobile app such as IndianOil ONE, BharatGas, or HP Gas app
Install the Aadhaar FaceRD app on your smartphone
Log in to your LPG account using your registered mobile number
Navigate to the e-KYC or Aadhaar authentication section
Enter your Aadhaar details as required
Complete face authentication using the Aadhaar FaceRD app
Submit the request and wait for confirmation
How to complete LPG e-KYC offline
Visit your nearest LPG distributor
Carry your Aadhaar card and registered mobile number
Request biometric Aadhaar authentication
Provide fingerprint or face authentication at the centre
Complete verification and collect confirmation

What happens if you do not complete e-KYC
