Previously, Google allowed Gemini AI free users to generate up to 100 images per day using its image generation model, while allowing up to 1,000 images per day for Pro and Ultra users. However, Google seems to have made some changes in its policy, and the support page now simply lists ‘basic access’ for free accounts, believed to be capped at 2 image generations per day.

Moreover, the company now describes image generation as offering ‘the highest access’ for Pro and Ultra users. Further, free-tier users have up to five prompts on the Gemini 2.5 Pro model daily, while the Pro users can generate up to 100 prompts. Google AI Ultra users can write 500 prompts per day and will receive priority processing speed, minimal wait times, and higher usage availability, compared to free users.
