Google’s Nano Banana AI tool has been taking over the internet with its 3D figures and retro-style saree images, achieving an impressive degree of realism. The tool works very quickly and stands out for its detail retention, making it faster than most competitors. This mix of efficiency, creative flexibility, and speed has driven its rapid adoption among internet users. However, since its widespread popularity, Google seems to have changed its policy on how many images free and paid users can create. Here we now detail these limits.
Google’s Gemini Nano Banana image limits: Key details
Previously, Google allowed Gemini AI free users to generate up to 100 images per day using its image generation model, while allowing up to 1,000 images per day for Pro and Ultra users. However, Google seems to have made some changes in its policy, and the support page now simply lists ‘basic access’ for free accounts, believed to be capped at 2 image generations per day.
Moreover, the company now describes image generation as offering ‘the highest access’ for Pro and Ultra users. Further, free-tier users have up to five prompts on the Gemini 2.5 Pro model daily, while the Pro users can generate up to 100 prompts. Google AI Ultra users can write 500 prompts per day and will receive priority processing speed, minimal wait times, and higher usage availability, compared to free users.
These changes allow Google to adjust limits based on server load and subscription type. This also means that free users can use Gemini’s Nano Banana tool to manage occasional tasks, while Pro and Ultra plan users can use it to perform heavier workloads.
