Rockstar Games’ much-awaited open-world outing Grand Theft Auto 6 is on track for a Fall 2025 launch and hopefully won’t see a delay, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has affirmed in a statement given to IGN. Upon being asked how confident he was about GTA 6 launching in Fall 2025, he said that “there’s always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things" but “we feel really good about it."
Reporting the results for the fiscal third quarter 2025, ended December 31, 2024, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, listed GTA 6 for a Fall 2025 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Besides Grand Theft Auto VI, Take-Two Interactive has got other big titles from franchises like Sid Meier’s Civilization and Borderlands lined up for release this year. Zelnick is also confident about Mafia: The Old Country launching in Summer 2025. Mafia: The Old Country is the prequel to the first game in the Mafia series.
“We plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4”, Zelnick said in a press statement.
As per Take-Two Interactive, the total Net Bookings (“the net amount of products and services sold digitally or sold-in physically”) in Q3 FY 2025 “grew 3% to $1.37 billion, compared to $1.34 billion during last year’s fiscal third quarter.
Games that contributed the most to Net Bookings were “NBA 2K25, Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V, Toon Blast, Match Factory!, their hyper-casual mobile portfolio, Empires & Puzzles, Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, Words With Friends and Toy Blast”, Take-Two said in the press statement.
